Counting down…

It’s that time again, yep… you know the one… you can tell just by looking at people. You guessed it - almost the end of the year. Another year has almost completely slipped by and we’re caught up in the final push to the end of it.

How did that happen, we ask ourselves? Where did the year go?

Our attention is split between all that needs to be done before we break up for the year and what happens once the office door shuts till after the new year. You know it’ll be here before you can blink.

This year Jack and I are hitting the road with Jilly the camper in tow; our destination less than a day’s drive, for a different kind of holiday than Im used to. This trip is a true test of most of the reasons I bought the camper in the first place.

We’ll be parked up in one place only rather than moving daily, as I usually.

One place to stay, an out of the way beach location, with plenty of room for all who stop by to spread out and find their own little patch of paradise .

Exploring by day, relaxing back at our little home away from home by night, under a blanket of stars. Lulled to sleep at night by the sound of the sea, mesmerised by the blues of the ocean and the sky. I’m anticipating some incredible coastal scenery to capture from the ground and above.

This was what the camper was intended for. A home base to come back to, with a bit of room to relax in, a few comforts of home - doors to keep pesky flies out, and clear walls to see through. A place to set up and hang out in, and it’s so close I can almost smell the sea breeze.

A jeep, a camper, a teeny fleet of drones and an out of the way beach in the summer, and a week or so to soak it all up in… sounds a bit like bliss 😉

I think it will feel like a bit of luxury after 12 odd years of roof top tenting, and Im looking forward to seeing if the reality lives up to the vision I’ve built up in my head.

What are you up to these holidays? Are you travelling or staying local?  having people over or taking a much needed break?
