Time to get toasty…

It was an unusual stormy Friday night after a too long hot summer, and I’d just pulled a blanket out of the cupboard, settled on the couch with my laptop for the next few hours.

The camper was sheltered in the back yard tucked up tight against the wind. Jack parked up against the garage, facing down the drive, on guard watching out toward the street, with Lily the little white cat as back-up. She kept watch over the street through the gap left for her under the garage door.

In the corner of the lounge a lamp cast a soft warm light and the curtains are closed against the howling wind racing down the side of the house, swirling through the backyard.

On the tv a program about the Bermuda Triangle was playing, where a team of divers, explorers and historians who’ve been exploring and following the mysteries of this spooky area were searching to identify some of the hundreds of wrecks that have been found it there.

Incredible stories and pretty apt watching for a spookily wild night, perfect for watching while snuggled under one of my fav camping blankets, with my little camp lights out ready in case the power went out.

The stormy weather and cooler temperature are a welcome sign that summer is ending and the cooler winter months are coming.

It’s time to pull out my portable fire pit, my warm camping blankets, heated blanket and warm thermals. It gets cold in a tent in the winter, and I have a great collection of blankets and a couple of sleeping bags.

Im looking forward to more nights sitting around a camp fire, watching the flames sway and dance, then snuggling under toasty warm blankets….

Bring it on, winter!
