In the moment…
Driving through a timeless landscape, half expecting a wagon to roll through the thick white grasses, picking its way around the scattered stands of trees.
Up ahead in the distance, a catch a glimpse of a fox’s tail disappearing into the long grass. My first ever sighting of a fox.
Years later, finally…. another fox tiptoed from the shore of a salt-lake, up onto the track and crossing behind my Jeep.
As it passed it turned its head, made eye contact with me as I stood beside the vehicle. I swear it smiled at me, smiled with its eyes and with its mouth.
I was a little awestruck. Ok maybe more than a little.
My phone sat on the car beside me, but I knew the minute I moved a muscle the fox would have stepped up its pace and our moment would have been over sooner.
I was beyond stoked to have finally have seen another fox, and to be so close to it, it was like a shared connection :)
A beautiful red fox. What a moment.
Driving slowly down a country road, beside a field with tall wheat gently swaying in the breeze, a kangaroo stuck his head up, looking around to get his bearings and make sure he hadn’t been spotted.
Bringing my car to a stop I itched to reach around for my camera but knew he’d be long gone if I took my eyes off him, so I just sat… and watched :)
Another beautiful moment. Captured in my memory
