Impressed…

Just as we find beautiful lone trees that cause us to stop and stare… and appreciate, so too are there trees of a slightly different kind, ones found stamped into the land or washed into sand by tidal flow.
Some of these trees come and go with the seasons or the weather or the tide… while others steadfastly remain… their prints may fade a little at times yet their shape and size remain.
While often its lone trees found, there are also forests and even families of trees down there in the ground.

I’ve watched one such family over a couple of years now… Mum and Dad, a couple of ‘teenage’ sized, some smaller kids and a couple of toddlers too. This family ‘inhabits’ an out of the way place, where not many people go, so they’re left in peace to exist through the seasons, on a beautifully smooth piece of ground .. with birds and wildlife as their visiting neighbours.

Some of these trees are newly formed, like small saplings trying to break out, others are weathered, having witnessed season after season, year after year.
Some are long and slender, some are graceful, some are short and sweet, and some look like they’ve ‘lived a life’…and been dragged to where they are now.

While they’re often impossible to see from the ground, trust me that they’re there… you may never know where …
unless you go up …
and have a look down.
