Time to go home…
I love being on the road.
Exploring country roads & dirt tracks, looking for my kind of treasure in those big wide open spaces.
I like getting home too.

The beach…
Wandering out to the water’s edge in my jandals (thongs if you’re Australian, flip flops if you’re from anywhere else except NZ) I stepped carefully, half expecting to fall on my butt at any time…

Down the dirt road…
I have fond memories of this road, it’s the only road to a salt lake I’m particularly fond of, and my most recent experience on it was racing down it in the night to escape a bushfire that had swung around to head in our direction. I was following another vehicle that was camped where I had intended to camp too.

Sublime Sunday…
That crazy quick trip north recently provided the perfect opportunity to escape a very definitely wintery Perth and head for a warmer northern climate.
Drone and camera batteries were fully charged and my little drone crew loaded into Jack in anticipation of the chance to fly high and wide, spinning their little props through the air.
That Sunday morning though there was barely a breath of wind anywhere…so I took the opportunity to let Max out to stretch his props… it was a beautifully calm morning, the waves were lapping gently against the shore, and the world seemed to be enjoying a calm soothing flow....

A flying visit…
An opportunity came up recently to show another kiwi around a tiny bit of this huge and stunning state of Australia I’m currently living in. It was just a quick trip… covering an odd 1,891km…. in a very quick three days.

Roadtripping to Yellowknife
Im pretty used to road trips and love driving, especially driving Jack. Usually though, our road trips are a bit limited due to time and distance and the requirement that Im at work on a Monday morning. So our trips are mostly limited to between 2-5 hours max from where I live.
When planning this trip to North America though, I had toyed with the idea of road tripping to Yellowknife, which is in the Canadian Northwest Territories. I figured while I was up this was I should probably see if I could catch the Aurora Borelias, a bucket list item for sure.
